New Seattle band, they sounded kinda like late 80s Japanese hardcore. Probably my favourite band of the evening, they put on a killer energetic set with no bullshit. Very choice, check ’em out!
First time seeing this local duo, I was very impressed with the musicianship especially considering there was only two of them. They had a “Sisters of Mercy” feel going on, but with more aggressive bass instrumentals and tremblo picking which matched up to the synth-popy style drum machine and beats. Very choice for the goth crowd, and I’m stoked to see them again.
Melodic post punk from Massachusetts, not really my thing to be honest. It’s not that I don’t dig post-punk, it’s just this band had far too much of that hyper melodic pop-punk singing and group vocals. Stage pressence was vey limited to standing in one place, this being said I think they brought out a lot of people because the audience seemed to really be digging it.
Another post-punk band, this time from Tacoma. I’ve seen these guys a few times and they are very entertaining to watch, definetly some hints of later “Blitz” with catchy guitar hooks. This band is a crowd pleaser, and long standing (from my understanding) north western act. Definetly better than the Tacoma dome.
New local hardcore outfit, with that “modern-but-reminisent-of-the-80s” US HC style sound. Very aggresive and maniac, looking forward to seeing them again.
Another new local hc band, members of Vacant State (among others) but in comparrison they are much more hardcore punk and less “hadcor”. Stoked to see what these guys end up doing.
